If you are a garlic lover, you can plant garlic quite easily in your own backyard. Space can be made in your own garden for this tasty vegetable. Garlic bulbs can be planted into the ground or in a pot. It is incredibly easy; you simply begin by buying garlic bulbs from your local grocery store.
The best time to plant garlic is during the fall. The bulbs expand in winter. Nevertheless, garlic will grow any time of the year.
Buy garlic! Buy the fullest bulbs of garlic that you can see. Elephant garlic or any of the smaller varieties will work. You may buy as much as you like. Each bulb goes a long way.
Separate each bulb. Be sure to leave a layer of skin. The biggest cloves are the most flavorful, but the small ones can be planted as well.
Place the cloves pointing up, so the roots can grow from the flat side down. Then cover with soil. Place dirt on top, not too deep, because you do not want to inhibit the stem.
Covering the crop with mulch is essential to promote growth. Covering it with dried leaves, alfalfa, or straw will work as well.
Water the soil! Be sure to water daily.
That’s it! Each clove grows into a full bulb of garlic. Enjoy your very own supply of garlic.
